DEGIRO Withdrawal Fee: What It Costs to Take Money Out
DEGIRO charges no withdrawal fee. Transfers to a linked bank account are free, and DEGIRO publishes €0 for inactivity, custody, deposit and withdrawal fees alike (as of August 2026). The costs to understand at DEGIRO sit in currency conversion and the annual connectivity charge.

Four fees DEGIRO explicitly publishes as zero
DEGIRO states €0 across four categories at once: inactivity, custody, deposit and withdrawal. That combination is unusual and worth noting, because these are precisely the charges that quietly erode a portfolio regardless of whether you trade. A custody fee in particular is a percentage of assets at some platforms, and its absence compounds over years. Withdrawals to a linked bank account are free with no per-transfer charge and no allowance to manage. Your own bank may charge on an incoming international transfer, which is outside the broker's control.
AutoFX is where the currency cost sits
DEGIRO's currency handling is the number to watch. AutoFX, the default, applies a 0.25% mark-up on conversion. The manual alternative costs €10 plus 0.25%, which makes it worse for small amounts and only sensible on large conversions where the percentage dominates the flat fee. At 0.25%, DEGIRO sits below Revolut (0.5%), eToro (around 0.75%) and Freetrade Basic (0.99%), and above Trading 212 (0.15%) and Interactive Brokers (0.03%). If you buy foreign shares regularly, this is the figure that decides whether DEGIRO is cheap for you.
The connectivity charge people forget
DEGIRO applies a connectivity fee of €2.50 per calendar year per exchange, capped at 0.25% of account value, for each exchange you trade or hold outside your home exchange. It is not charged on your home market, the Irish Stock Exchange, Tradias OTC or the ETF Core Selection, and US options and futures are billed at €5.00 per month instead. It is a small amount but it scales with how widely you diversify by venue, so an investor holding across six exchanges pays six times. Commission is separate: a €1 handling fee per trade plus commission, working out at €2 total on US exchanges, €3 on the Irish home market, €4.90 on London, Euronext, XETRA, Swiss and Nordic exchanges, and €6 on Australia, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. ETFs are €3, or €1 handling only for the Core Selection under a fair-use policy.
The bottom line
DEGIRO charges nothing to withdraw and nothing for custody, deposits or inactivity. Judge it on the 0.25% AutoFX mark-up and the per-exchange connectivity charge, which are where its costs actually live.
